Laura Dern is goals to me. She hasn’t done any obvious work or injections, and I love her classic style. Last night’s look was no exception. She was in black and white Proenza Schouler, in a gown which had a cross-like ankh across the front. When I covered Jennifer Lopez’s striking Balmain I know some of you said that crosses were too on-the-nose for last night’s theme, but I found them fun. Plus I like the nod to nun’s habits. Some may find it boring but I like the simple elegance in this dress. Check out her metallic starburst necklace with curlicues.
I’m including Jared Leto, Lana Del Rey and Alessandro Michele here, all in Gucci, because I didn’t want to make them headliners of their own post. I do like the elaborate brocade work on their looks and how they’re all homaging the theme, but Jared Leto seems like such a creep to me. I’ve been waiting for more stories to come out about him and teenage fans, but so far we haven’t heard much. Maybe Laura was just half-assing the theme but these three are overdoing it.
